WHY XOLOTL?

Our name is inspired by Xōlōtl, the ancient Mesoamerican deity associated with transformation, the setting sun, and the passage between life and death.

In Mexica tradition, Xōlōtl was the twin of Quetzalcóatl, and the Xoloitzcuintli became deeply associated with his mythology.

The Xolo was believed to accompany departed souls through Mictlan, the realm of the dead, guiding them on a journey that could not be completed alone.
